Dr. Jonas is a UCLA physician-scientist specializing in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. He received a bachelor's degree in materials science & engineering and a master's degree in biomedical engineering prior to starting his medical training to pursue his M.D. 和他的博士学位.D. degrees at UCLA through its NIH-supported Medical Scientist Training Program. Dr. Jonas completed his pediatric residency and fellowship training in pediatric hematology/oncology at 皇冠hga025大学洛杉矶分校美泰儿童医院 where he was the first trainee in a specialized physician-scientist track established by the Department of Pediatrics at the UCLA David Geffen 医学院.
He leads a multidisciplinary research team that targets the development and application of new nanotechnologies and methods to support the childhood cancer and regenerative medicine research communities in accelerating the discovery and implementation of innovative gene therapy approaches and diagnostic strategies. His research is primarily focused on the design of nanotechnologies that enable rapid, 安全, 具有成本效益的, and efficient delivery of genes and genome-editing machinery to immune and stem cells for manufacturing new gene and cellular therapies.
2019年，. Jonas received the prestigious Director's Early Independence Award from the National Institutes of Health. He is a member of the California NanoSystems Institute, the UCLA Eli & Edythe Broad Center of Regenerative Medicine & 干细胞研究, and the Jonsson Comprehensive 癌症中心 and is a Young Investigator awardee of the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer 研究, the Hyundai Hope on Wheels Foundation, and the Tower Cancer 研究 Foundation.
